About our School

Mercer

Welcome to Columbus Christian Academy!

We’re blessed by a rich Christian heritage and history of partnering with parents and local evangelical churches to provide a Christ-centered education to students all the way from preschool to graduation.

Our families represent around 50 different local churches that enjoy the common ground of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. On this firm foundation, our academic subjects lead students to explore and celebrate God’s truth in every area of life.

CCA is small enough to feel like family, yet large enough to offer a healthy range of programs and classes! I invite you to visit our campus and experience our flourishing community for yourself.

Mr. Don Mercer, Head of School

Our Mission

In partnership with parents and area evangelical churches, CCA strives to provide a Christ-centered education of excellence to enable students to soar in truth and wisdom and to become men and women of true faith, equipped to stand strong for Christ and impact their world for eternity.

Our Vision

Our school exists to provide a Christ-centered, Bible-based educational program aimed at spiritual growth and academic excellence. We provide an environment where every student is cared for spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. By God’s grace, our students will learn to be servant-leaders who effectively live out and communicate a biblical worldview, strive to realize their academic potential, and seek to know and fulfill the unique purpose God has planned for each of their lives.

Our History

In 1978, Reverend Mike Stephens founded Immanuel Christian School as a ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. Over the years, it grew and flourished under the leadership, prayer, and support of the church and the many families who invested in it.

By 2004, the school took up residence at our current location. With a focus on excellence, it became the only school (K3-Grade 12) in Mississippi to achieve the accreditations of Christian, public, and private school academic associations: Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS); Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS); and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Effective June 30, 2014, the school officially changed its name to Columbus Christian Academy (CCA). Today, our school remains academically and spiritually strong—continuing to serve the students and families of the Columbus area with a true, Christ-centered education. We continually thank God for His provision in the past, and we look forward with expectation to all that He has awaiting us in the future!
